Let me begin by saying my heart and a donation goes to this country.

Obama says situation cries out for a leader, what is he the door man at the Waldorf Astoria?  The victims are starting to get angry because they are not getting their “Aid” quick enough.  Just what are we to do?  airport is so jammed that there is no place to park airplanes, there is little jet fuel to get plains back in the air, there is no real air traffic control. the list is endless.  They do not even have an infrastructure that will help distribution supplies.

A great deal of this problem was caused by our tricolored flagged froggy friends when the split the island rich to one side poor to the other.  How we start doing something positive about the problem, for example a BIG percentage of the stimulus money is unspent.  How about we set up American recovery teams paid by the jobs money and haul them down there with their equipment and so some real good.  Ya know like the Navy  (Seabees).

Obama reminds me of the guy that when the real decision-making point is reached I hear him saying not me job mon, de needs a leader.  To lead what the march of the sugar plumb cockroaches?  I see a typical big government socialist/democratic response of trow money at it.

and just where in the name of Gietner is he gonna get the money?

sorry stupidity bothers me public stupidity irritates , maybe we could get the guys for m Gitmo  to go help.  Oh yea it is closed whonder who theosse peopld are ther then, Shrug

Look at a big picture

in previous comments I have talked about several individual things let me throw out a few more facts and you tell me what you see.Major fact #1 there is a thing calles rare or strategic metals that are used in our electronics and defense industries.  There is no current commercial ly known search for these metals going on that I know of.  There is a Canadian company that specializes in searching for these minerals and they are looking in europe.  There was one mine recovering some of these metals in the Serria Nevadas (the mountains on the CA/NV border) and they got EPA’d out of business and nobody is doing it here in the US.  We get a major part of our metals of this from Peru and to get them at a decent price we also have to buy a lot of Peru’s copper.  I am not privy to knowledge of any stockpiles here in the US.(as an aside, for 20 some years I worked where I would have over time gained knowledge of these metals being reclaimed say from wrecked computers and aircraft and stockpiled).

I am not going to rehash any of my previous rants, but I will say this, after watching the antics of our current administration there is a huge movement toward a “world government” if you will.  before you write me off as wacko or maybe you should,,,I think conspiracies are mostly in the mind of the person who thought them up.  I feel that one should not attribute to a conspiracy or malice which can be discounted as natural human stupidity.  On the whole I do not think that as a group we are able to keep our mouths shut.  I will admit that my puzzling over this makes me want to smell the coffee, to wake up and say WTF U thinking…. OK so go call the men in white coats and a net. (please do not use tranq darts … needles hurt) I will go peaceably.

Just do this take all the interesting little facts I have tossed out here over time add in what you know that I don’t and see what conclusion you draw.  Oh yeah and tell me what is the next step after that? (just kidding you don’t want to be labeled as wacko like I am) sure some of you will name me, and keep it to yourself if you want.  I am just asking you to think

What is going on?

I have heard thru the jungle drums that Thikol is facing the possibility of laying of several thousand more people.  Why?  The US  Military/Government is asking for bids on a new rocket booster motor  which has to updated/refurbished on a regular basis.  Wanna guess who is bidding?? Russia,,wanna guess who is being considered seriously,  Ya Russia…

Now we are having lots of trouble employing people so we are going to lay off some 8000 more here in the US ( saving how many Jobs).  Oh sorry I forget Utah is predominately Republican so our citizens don’t count in the unemployed ranks.

I am pissed off how about you?  What are you going to do about it? wringing your hands does not count

Now Here is a Man of his Word

There is nothing I can say but “SIR” to Alabama Congressman  Parker Griffith (exD now R).  Not for switching parties but for standing behind his convictions.  He publically announced to the whole of his state, our country and the world that he is taking the actions he feels best it taking.  If you have been watching the national health squabble you see where people are selling out right and left.  Selling us out, one was no reduction in Pennsylvania’s medicare another for another southern state. At the moment cannot remember which but think it was the home  of the biggest city below sea level.  I guess they just held out for a higher price.  Wonder what prices others sold out for,,,mmmm? 

Maybe I am just cynical but when 11 amendments were proposed that all congress be put on this national health care they were voted down.  There is an agenda of socialist elitist going on here.

My hat is off and I salute Parker Griffith for his actions.  I truly wish all his fellows in the house and senate would follow his example of what is good for my country,  not what is good for me.

can someone explain this to me

We have the Bill of Rights, formally known as the first 10 Amendments to the Constitution.  I am going to take this is small steps so I dont lose anyone ok.  Now are you all with me?

The First Amendment to the United States Constitution is part of the Bill of Rights. The amendment prohibits the Congress from making laws “respecting an establishment of religion“, impeding the free exercise of religion, infringing on the freedom of speech and infringing on the freedom of the press. In the 20th century, the Supreme Court held that the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment applies the First Amendment to each state, including any local government.

Now here is where I lose it.   If the 14th Amendment applies to the First Amendment why doesn’t it also apply to the Second? (as well as all the others).

Am I missing something, you can protect 9/10 of the apple but not the last tenth because some people don’t like it?  Gee, I bet I can find a few who don’t like some of the parts of the First Amemdment and any other  Amendment you wish to chose.  So why has our Government allowed all these claptrap laws about gun ownership and how we carry those guns to even exist.  They are no different than the “Jim Crow” laws of the south after the Civil war

 If I would have written you what I was thinking I am sure the FBI would have been at my door by lunch time.  We have gone thru worse times, it is just that now with the modern media it is more widely known, and with the ultra liberal news media taking sides it is difficult.

 Let me point out one such incident, Remember the War with Spain, started when the USS Maine blew up in Havana harbor? (And by the way it was due to a munitions handling internal to the ship, not enemy action)

 The yellow press, as it was called then, demanded that we go to war and “punish” Spain.  WE initially attacked Cuba Teddy Roosevelt and the Rough Riders gained their fame.  We took several of Spain’s colonies AND SPAIN HAD ALREADY SURRENDERED BEFORE WE EVER FIRED A SHOT OR LANDED TROOPS!

 I have compete and utter faith in the average American be they liberal or conservative to ultimately do what is right, it is a historical fact that the party out of power in the White house and Congress always looses seats in the mid term election and thereby brings the governmental pendulum, if you will, back toward central and more.  Look up the Teapot Oil scandal.  Another fine mess they got us into Ollie..

 The more I look and think the more I am impressed by the foresight of our forefathers of this country and the build in checks and balances they put in place.  2010 is a good example.  No group has ever held power even during Ronnie R.s era for more than two years

 This current messy house has brought very bright lights on the biggest of the individuals who are so much of the problem.  Will  we elect better people? Hell No they will be corrupted by the beltway environment, even your candidate Cherilyn Eager.  It is impossible to rise above it and still accomplish anything. (That is one thing I fear for your candidate) When you eating with the pigs it is hard to keep your clothes clean.

  The only thing we can hope to actually is get enough new faces in place that enough ‘apple carts are overturned’ and we start afresh with new people and redo/rehash current ideas and bring up ‘new’ ones.

 If I could make a wish for my country is that there would be a way by which we could wipe both houses and the White House completely empty and new elections held with something like a 90 days campaign period, the current office holders would stay in place but could pass no financial or other money related actions but just be place holders until the new people get elected and move in.  And of course the current office holders could not run for their seat or any other seat in congress.

 From what I have observed over the past few decades new people get shoved in a corner, mmm maybe that is why Obama never bother showing up just like he does in the Office he now holds, well anyway. (BTW, He seems to have learned his lesson with the Harvard professor because he has not jumped in on the Tiger Woods mess)

 Somehow we need to uproot the pay and retirement system they have as well as their health plan.  Problem is this, there were 11 amendments to the current Universal health bill that would force the congressional people to be switched over to the, gag me, new and better system.  All 11 were defeated.  Now if does not show where the true problem lies I have no idea what will

 Try this idea, instead of making it a law; make it an Amendment to the Constitution.  That means every state house would have to debate it before voting on it and we have passed an Amendment to later have it overturned.   Prohibition for those who don’t remember. Its wording  being something like all people residing within the United States at the time of the ratification taking place will be entitled to public health care at little or no cost, to include any and all Doctor, hospital visits and necessary medications.

 Let’s see is there anybody I haven’t pissed off tonight?  I am sure there is just can’t think of who they are.

help me I am lost

A major story today is Obama receiving the Noble Prize for peace. while defending our participation in two ongoing conflicts.  I am not going to even talk about the management of these events.

What I seem to have lost is what has he actually done to joint the ranks of Mother Teresa, Nelson Mandella and the like who strived for years before even gaining any notice from the world population let alone the Nobel folk.

If anyone can enlighten me citing actual events or changes he has brought about that I can to worship at his alter of mightyness

Climate What?

Well here we are at Copenhagen or as they are calling Hopenhagen

Hoping for what?  Stop climate warming, ever try to pitchfork water against the tide? What in earth’s sake are the folk thinking about?  making water run uphill?

Now I don’t claim to be the brigtest star in the sky, but all I have to do is look at long term history and know there has always been climate change, By the way did you shovel 6-10 inches of climate warming off you driveway this morning?  Or how about the climate changing/warming white stuff that closed the interstates in Arizona?…MMM I got it global warming is being caused by all the sweat from your brow when shoveling global freezing off your driveway.

Seriously, climate change has always been with us, it runs in cycles, remember the stories about the glaciers moving south, oh excuse me we didnt have panic scientists running around thumping the trees to send out warnings then.  You want simple unrefutiable evidence of climate change? Count the rings on a long growing tree.  Note several things there are lots of wide rings grouped to gether, there are lots of narrow rings grouped together and a large number of rings.  Now what does that tell me, well first there are lots of weat periods and dry periods ahd how long the tree has been exposed to this on going pattern of change.  If you step back you can obseve there is a pattern of wide bands and narrow bands, gee that means we again have cycles of changing weather..  Archeologists can tell you of migrations of people based on climate change. and wonder of wonders this same group know more about climate change over huge periods of time than just about anyone.  I don’t hear any of them getting very upset.  Let me point out something. these dirt grubbing searchers of the past all decked out in therir pith helments and hand tools can actually trace weather cycles back hundreds even thousands of years simply matching up, you guessed it tree ring patterns.

But that is way to simple, we have to have big government sponsered studies based on the recorded tempatures across the globe.  Boy that is a large data group, just how long have we been accurately recording tempatures?  When was the first thermometer invented anyway? One of them early thinkers had a tube in which he had floating glass spheres that has weights attached and calibrated to rise and fall as tempature changed.  But throught out time we have has basically three tempatures, hot, comfortable and cold.  Did knowing the exact numberical rating based on some expanding/contracting liquid change those feelings.  Know the difference between 40 below and 60 below?  When you spit at 40 below it freezes when it hits the ground at 60 below it freezes when it leaves your lips.  Try it some time let me know your findings. 

 Then the Wind chill have our global warming folks figured that into their calculations? I have seen the wind blowing across a freshly plowed field and dry the surface just about as fast as I could turn the earth. and I seem to remember that being hot and dusty, and let us not forget the Santa Winds of California.

Climate change may aching back, sure it is going to change just ask Mother Nature.  Be creative, look around you watch the seasons watch the animals.  Instead of spending who knows how much on a world conference on the subject which you might note amounts to a massive financial windfall for Copenhaugen; why dont we spend that type money learning to adjust to a changing climate, cause carbon foot print or not, you can bet it is going to change and playing chicken little about it is not going to slow, change, or prevent if from happening.

CONSTITUTIONAL THOUGHTS

I AM NOT A CONSTITUTIONAL SCHOLAR, JUST A THOUGHTFUL PERSON.

My Thoughts:

Our Founding Fathers were wise and thoughtful men who by chance of circumstance were drawn together to found a nation and outline a path for its future which has stood the test of time where no other country has existed unchanged in its political structure and existence.  I pondered why this was true.

They determined that the most important feature of any free society or political entity was freedom of speech and the inalienable right to exercise that right unhindered by individual or government action or policy. Therefore we have the First Amendment with all its freedoms of expression, be it religion , speed or whatever.

 They then concluded that it is the responsible of every citizen to be able to defend that freedom by force of arms if necessary.  Our police forces local, state and federal are charged with the enforcement of the laws enacted by their representative legal bodies.

Our military is forbidden from military action within our country with just cause.  Again this is to protect the citizens of the United States from improper exercise of power by its government.  Our founding fathers placed such importance on this issue that they made it the Second most important Amendment of the Constitution.

In the 1860s, during the Civil War, legislators were trying to root out traitors. They wanted a more explicit oath. They had the oath of office rewritten. Here is the oath of office taken by every U.S. Senator, federal employee, and military service member since that time. I might also note that upon leaving their position they are not released from that oath

“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, domestic and foreign; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.”

This was carefully worded in Article IV of the Constitution, which they placed the term DOMESTIC ahead of FOREIGN.  In other words they held traitors against the Constitution in greater contempt than an agent of a foreign power spying on this Country.

I now wish to point out some additional facts which bear on this issue.  Right after World War Two in the areas controlled by the Soviet Republic it was first required that all personal firearms be registered.  The people complied, then it was declared that all firearms be turned in and the police went from house to house collecting those arms.  Then in countries like Hungary, when the Soviet Army marched in to take over, had no way to defend themselves from the invasion because the puppet government had disarmed them.

I now wish to point out the situation in both England and Australia who have effectively disarmed their population by the very methods started by President Obama’s actions (and supporters) and followed by the actions described by the actions of the Soviet Union in Eastern Europe.  The crime rates have skyrocketed in both these countries;  for as we all know only the law abiding will obey the laws.

 Let me now point out that Mexico is in the midst of a massive drug war which has spilled over into These United States both in towns and cities across this country as well as armed conflict across our common border. 

 May I point out that one of the strongest deterrents from an armed ground invasion is the combat trained, experienced and armed civilian population!  Our military cannot protect us on all borders.  We cannot afford to have that large a standing army nor do we have the people.

  now wish to address the country of Switzerland.  Every adult and able male is part of that tiny country’s armed forces and are required by law to keep their combat weapon at home along with sufficient ammunition and supplies for immediate deployment without having to be issued arms.  I ask you that besides their rugged terrain why do you think this tiny country remained Neutral even during World War Two and has never been effectively invaded or over run?  They are an entire nation of armed people ready, trained and equipped to defend their country.

 I had occasion to read the remarks of a Russian General Officer about the greatest fear he had about the American fighting man.  It was their familiarity with firearms from their youth and their inventiveness in combat.

 I must now refer this reader to the “Truth About Gun Owners” (Tag Questionnaire).  Every proposal of President Obama and his backers PROPOSE weakens this nation’s ability to defend itself, from enemies, DOMESTIC or FOREIGN.

 No matter if you are a gun owner or not, no matter if you are a hunter or not, we as a people cannot allow any of the rights given us in the Bill of Rights to be infringed.  In truth, the only thing that stands between us as individuals and a nation from being over taker by governments either internal or external is the first Two Amendments to our Constitution.  Everything is subordinate to these two elements of this document, The Constitution of the United States of America.

 We cannot let this entitlement of the Right To Bear Arms to be modified or abridged in any way, for to do so opens the door to undermining every other Amendment! That will be the end of this Great American Experiment in self government.

 This is bigger than just issue of gun ownership.  This is a true Constitutional crisis in the making.  I personally fear the reaction of Americans to this issue, for it very well could contribute to disastrous internal strife, which in-turn would open our country to attack from without.

 I ask that you give my thoughts very careful consideration and how I view the possible impact if this issue on our nation, our children, grand children and generations to come.  There is enough divisive issues facing this country, without introducing one of this magnitude which as I view as unwarranted and un-needed.  I also ask of you that if you agree, and I suspect that you do, you take my words and thoughts, expand upon them if you feel necessary and make them the highest issue in this land.
